For those who are not able to participate in the HealthPlus Crim Festival of Races on August 26 and 27, the Crim has announced The Virtual Crim - FLINT, MI - As a leader in health and wellness, the Crim Fitness Foundation made two exciting new announcements regarding the HealthPlus Crim Festival of Races and the I Crim for Flint Outreach Campaign.

Virtual Crim
For those who are not able to participate in the HealthPlus Crim Festival of Races on August 26 and 27, the Crim has announced The Virtual Crim. Now, no matter where you live across the country or around the world, you can show your support for the community by running or walking 1 mile, 5K, 8K or 10 miles, or simply making a donation. Registration for The Virtual Crim is available at www.icrim.org. Donors of $50 or more receive an I Crim for Flint t-shirt. Participants also have the opportunity to create virtual teams and compete for the top spot in their fundraising efforts.

Those who receive shirts are encouraged to share selfies demonstrating how they Crim by posting them on social media (www.facebook.com/crimfitnessfoundation) or sending them to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. All proceeds from The Virtual Crim support the Crim Fitness Foundation's physical activity, nutrition and mindfulness programs and advocacy efforts that benefit those living in the community, particularly children. Leading health officials have cited these types of programs as important tools in mitigating the effects of lead exposure.

Boston Race Team to Participate in HealthPlus Crim Festival of Races

The Crim also announced that a team of runners from the famed Boston Marathon will be in Flint on Saturday, August 27th to run the HealthPlus Crim Festival of Races 10 mile race. "We are thrilled at this incredible show of support from a race organization and a community who has also faced immense challenges," said Andrew Younger, Crim Race Director.

"There is a special connection with our friends in Flint, since we are no strangers to adversity and challenge here in Boston," said Boston Marathon Race Director Dave McGillivray. "We have received support from the nationwide running community when we needed it, and we want to let our friends in Flint know they are not alone. We are encouraging runners from the Boston area to visit Flint and race in the Crim this year."

Younger continued, "The Boston Team is issuing a challenge to other runners, walkers and race organizations across the country and around the world to join them in Crimming for Flint by sending teams to participate in the race, or organizing teams to participate in The Virtual Crim. We are heartened and deeply moved by this gesture."

Teams may register on the Crim website at http://crim.org/icrim/ with up-to-the-minute results on the progress of each team in recruiting members and raising funds to help the people of Flint through the Crim Fitness Foundation.
