Members of Congress will try to put talk of collusion, the House Chaplain and the 2018 election behind them, as well as some of their colleagues, as they lead teams in the annual ACLI Capital Challenge®, a three-mile road race. They join participants from all branches of government and the media. According to Director Jeff Darman, "the race has absolutely the fastest Members of Congress entered. These runners are really incredibly fit, fitter than legislators from any other nation!" The race takes place on Wednesday, May 16, at 8:00 a.m. in Washington, D.C.'s Anacostia Park. Kenya’s Alex Korio, the defending TCS World 10K champion, will return to Bengaluru and take on his compatriot and IAAF World Half Marathon Championships Valencia 2018 winner Geoffrey Kamworor at this year’s race on Sunday 27 May.

 

Australian Sam McEntee wins men’s title in first visit to the event, with more than 1,700 runners participating in downtown Minneapolis - Minneapolis, Minn. – May 10, 2018 – Emily Lipari of San Diego and Australian Sam McEntee won women’s and men’s titles, respectively, at the Medtronic TC 1 Mile tonight in downtown Minneapolis.

Mazuronak, the top European finisher in fifth place in the 2016 Olympic Marathon in Rio, dominated the race. The German runner Fabienne Amrhein was a surprise second placer, improving her best to 2:32:35. Her personal best was inside the team qualifying time for the European Championships in Berlin this summer. The Kenyan Rose Maru finished third in 2:33:55 with last year's women's champion Doroteia Peixoto Alves of Portugal fourth in 2:35:15.

PITTSBURGH – Two-time winner Clara Santucci and defending men’s champion Jacob Chemtai will be seeking repeats against top international fields at the 2018 DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, set for Sunday, May 6. This year’s 26.2 mile race features a prize purse of $57,000, including $8,000 for each race champion.
