Colorado Colfax Marathon
The Post-News Colorado Colfax Marathon made an improvement with its new course Sunday. Unlike last year, when runners were sent in the wrong direction, adding a half-mile to an already brutal 26.2-mile race, the top 30 runners only had to go an extra quarter-mile this year. They were led off-course after the first mile because a bicycle pacer made a wrong turn.

Saucony Signs Olympian Magdalena Lewy Boulet
Saucony announced the signing of Olympic marathoner Magdalena Lewy Boulet to a multi-year endorsement contract. Lewy Boulet earned a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team by finishing second in the 2008 U.S. Women's Olympic Marathon Trials held in Boston on April 20th. Leading for much of the 26.2-mile race, she finished in a personal-best time of 2:30:19.
CU Men Win Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Title
The University of Colorado men's team won its first Big 12 Conference Outdoor Track & Field title as the 2008 Championships concluded Sunday night at Potts Field. The title is the first men's league championship since running off a string of eight in a row in the old Mountain States Conference between 1940 and 1947.

Feyissa and Palisca Win Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon
In cool, damp conditions and with no other marathon runners within striking distance, Retta Feyissa of Ethiopia won the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon in 2:33:34. In the women's marathon Donna Palisca, 30, from Norristown, PA, was the first woman across the line in 3:07:27.

The Danskin Women's Triathlon Series, the largest and longest running women's multi sport event embarked on its 19th season by returning to Orlando, FL where race winner Krystal Bemman, from Winter Haven, FL finished with a time of 48:05.

Makau Wins Healthy Kidney 10K
New York, Saturday, May 17—Patrick Makau of Kenya led wire to wire to win the 2008 Healthy Kidney 10K, missing U.S. Olympian Dathan Ritzenhein’s Central Park record of 28:08, set in this race last year, by 11 seconds. This was the fourth running of the New York Road Runners event, which benefits the National Kidney Foundation.
